Having left a Virgin cruise which was excellent and continued my 60th birthday at the Fairmont I was disappointed. The c
Lobby was grand. Size of the poolside room was good. Pool area was impressive with lots of sun loungers and parasols.
The main restaurant (breakfast) was tired and needed updating. Beds were lumpy and not made properly. Some of the staff were unfriendly and seemed fed up with their jobs. I thought the room charges were over priced.

I enjoyed my stay and will probably stay again
Breakfast was great. time-frame was great, able to sleep-in and still able to eat late or early depending on scheduled activities. Chefs and serving staff were very considerate of every need.
Excursions that didn't offer to and from transportation to their location and back to the hotel. No daily message about on-site activities planned or available displayed on room tv announcements.

What was the highlight of Fairmont El San Juan Hotel
For a well-known and traditional hotel in PR. I was not impressing at all.
The bartenders at the different places at the hotel were not the level of this hotel category. Drinks were not properly served. I asked at the pool and inside the lobby and the results were not outstanding. The rooms at this hotel level were disappointed. Not beverages at the refrigerator ? Not even a clock to check the time ? Neither a small desk or lamp to write something ? Think about it.
